One more weekend to shop local – Thompson’s Garden Gallery & Outdoor Living
Wrapping up a busy week — and realizing I have a few more gifts on my list I still need to purchase. But — I’m not worried because right down the street — is Thompson’s Garden Gallery. Erin and Cory Thompson have created a wonderful retail space; it is truly one of my favorite places to browse (and buy!).
From hammocks and patio furniture to original art and jewelry — this is a great place to buy an unique gift for your significant other, teen daughter and/or co-worker. The other week, I bought a precioius (in a good way) necklace with a dainty “little bird” charm. My colleague at Bookigee (in Miami) simply adored it. And my “I Love Tryon” painting that I have in my office gets compliments the minute someone walks in the door (okay — so it’s eyelevel and smack dab in your face — but…).
Local artists are featured and the diveristy of the art is beyond impressive. I have not yet walked out of there without a gift for a friend or adding something(s) to my personal “wishlist.”
Of course, Cory and Erin are available for landscape design and consultation — it’s never too early to start thinking SPRING! Affordable rental space for cocktail parties, English teas and other small gathering is also available. Just ask!
On a side note, Erin is one of those Tryonites who is walking-the-walk and supporting other businesses, too. You are likely to see her and her merry team watering flower baskets that line Trade Street or working HARD on behalf of the town during strolls, parades and events. She’s a force to be reckoned with… just ask her facebook friends!
